Mostar is marked by the vibrantly turquoise Neretva River that pulses through the city and the old Ottoman bridge that proudly arches over it. Both of these contain a multitude of histories - as the foundation for much of the cultural heritage of the region, many people are connected to them through personal memories and stories. But there is so much more to this Herzegovina city than the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Mediterranean climate gives it a coastal feel although surrounded by steep limestone mountains. Do yourself a favor and explore the city beyond its charming old town...you’ll be delighted in what you find.
