Part of our Western Balkans Adventure Travel Webinar Series
This month's Western Balkans Adventure Travel Webinar—Partnerships Between Local and International Operators—will air on Thursday, May 25th at 3:30 p.m. CEDT (9:30 a.m. EDT).
When operators, from different countries, work together to bring clients from across the globe to create adventure tours, it is travelers who are the real winners. One company is a trusted name with a long history of satisfied customers. The other is a tried-and-true outfitter with hard-won local experience in a distant locale rising on the tourism charts. When the two work together, both the bottom line AND providing authentic experience are accounted for.
Our guests will be Jim Johnson, the president of BikeTours.com, a Chattanooga, Tenn.-based company that represents 75 bicycle tour companies across Europe, and Thierry Joubert, the director of Green Visions, a Bosnia and Herzegovina-based operator. This summer, the two companies will work together on an eight-day cycling journey from Dubrovnik, Croatia to Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The session will investigate the advantages and challenges of such business alliances. The session will also be archived and free for those interested. Alex Crevar, who has covered the Balkans (The New York Times and National Geographic Traveler) as a travel journalist for 20 years, moderates the series and tackles topics of interest to the adventure travel industry—for both professionals and travelers.
The monthly series is brought to you by the Via Dinarica Alliance, a cross-border cooperative of companies in the Western Balkans committed to strengthening the region’s sustainability through responsible tourism. The series is hosted by Balkanvibe, the premier booking website for travel in the Balkans, offering the widest range of tours for the region as well as a seamless booking and credit-card payment system. The series is supported by the USAID/REG project.
